Not a systems house. Not a software reseller. Not an AI bandwagon.
We do not recommend a tool because we sell it. We do not design a solution we could not build ourselves. And we use AI where it genuinely helps — not everywhere it would sell.
We sort out your processes before we talk about tools.
We design what fits your business — not ours.
We deliver automation that holds. With or without AI.
Three things other consultants will not hand you like this.
Concept before tool
Others open with a software demo. We open with how you actually work.
We look at where the friction is and which processes would genuinely take weight off you — before recommending a single tool. The concept is the real work. Building it follows from that.
Advice and delivery from one source
Concepts do not get handed off to another team here.
We do not just draw the architecture, we build it — from Microsoft 365 migrations through WooCommerce to our own SaaS applications. That shortens handovers and avoids the familiar losses between the people who advise and the people who deliver.
AI-native, but level-headed
AI is a tool here, not a marketing label.
We use Claude Code, agentic workflows and structured automation throughout our own delivery chain. That makes us faster and more consistent than classic consultancies — without selling you AI where a plain interface will do.
Strategy, delivery and support — from one source.
Three levels that build on each other. You can start at any of them, and go as far as it makes sense to you.
Strategy and advice
Assessment, architecture, tool evaluation, roadmap. We start with a workshop, not a software demo. What you get at the end is not an eighty-page deck but a prioritised list of what to do.
More on strategy →Implementation and integration
We build what we recommend. Microsoft 365 and cloud identity, WooCommerce and WordPress, ERP migration and DATEV integration, n8n automation, e-invoicing and German GoBD compliance.
More on implementation →Support and service
Things do not stop when the project does. We stay reachable, train teams, document reproducibly, and are there when new requirements come up.
More on support →How we approach a project.
Four steps that add up to one picture — and in this order they save a great many expensive detours.
Understand
Before we propose anything, we listen. We map your processes, talk to the people who work in them every day, and find out where the friction is.
Structure
We make the invisible visible. Data flows, responsibilities, bottlenecks. What was a gut feeling becomes a diagram.
Design
Only now do we choose tools. We decide by the task at hand, not by partnership agreements. Vendor-neutral, realistic, with an eye on what stays maintainable.
Build
We implement what we recommend ourselves. Start small, deliver early, document reproducibly. You get software that holds up in daily use.
We work with owner-run SMEs. Here is a cross-section.
Representative and anonymised. We are happy to name references in a personal conversation.
Hobby specialist with in-house production
Online shop for a niche food range, an in-house recipe library as the marketing engine, own production with bills of materials and batch tracking. Complete platform modernisation.
Medical devices and assistive products
Several own brands under one roof, B2B with dedicated price lists, B2C marketing in parallel. Complex brand architecture, e-invoicing, DATEV integration.
Automotive spare and exchange parts
ERP modernisation from a legacy system to a current platform. Specialised topics such as core charges, remanufacturing logistics, XRechnung and ZUGFeRD. Accompanied from evaluation through migration.
Multi-tenant Microsoft 365
A multi-site Microsoft 365 environment managed under a GDAP partnership. Tenant consolidation, identity, security setup.
Owner-run. Grounded in practice. Vendor-neutral.
digiFORMER was founded in 2016 and is run by Pascal Oelmann. We advise and support small and mid-sized companies on digitalisation, process improvement and automation — from a workshop-based assessment through to delivery in our own hands.
What sets us apart is not a tool and not a trend. It is a stance: we understand before we propose, we build what we recommend, and we stay reachable once a project has formally ended.
More about us →Thoughts on digitalisation in mid-sized business.
Occasional, honest, without a cloud of buzzwords. When there is something to say, it appears here.
Not a systems house. Not an AI bandwagon. What digiFORMER does differently.
When someone at an event asks me what digiFORMER actually does, I usually start with a negation. We are not a classic systems house, not a software reseller, not a supplier of AI hype — and that is the most honest opening I can find.
AI honestly placed — when we recommend it and when we do not.
There is a reflex in the consulting trade: the moment a client asks about AI, a four-phase roadmap lands on the table. Twelve months, a healthy fee. At the end someone works out that a simple webhook and an if-condition would have solved eighty per cent of the problem.
Digital sovereignty for smaller companies — more important than you think today.
In February 2025 it became public that Microsoft had suspended the email account of an ICC official — because US law required it. That episode made a question real for the German IT advisory community that we had until then treated as theoretical.

Thirty minutes, free of charge, no obligation. You describe where you stand — we tell you honestly whether and how we can help. If we cannot, we may know someone who fits better.
