We advise small and mid-sized businesses on digitalisation — and we mean it.
digiFORMER is owner-run, vendor-neutral and deeply rooted in the daily work of mid-sized business. A few words here about the firm and the person behind it.
Pascal Oelmann, founder and managing director.
digiFORMER is run by Pascal Oelmann. He is not only the shareholder; he is also the one sitting at the table with most clients — and in the code, in the architecture sketch, at the whiteboard.
That double role is deliberate. Advice without hands-on depth soon turns academic. Delivery without a strategic view soon turns expensive. We do not separate the two roles — and that is one of the most important differences about us.
My aim is not to have the largest advisory team or to sell the smartest tool. My aim is for a client to still be glad, three years on, that we chose the architecture the way we did.
Six values you can hold us to.
We say what will work. And what will not.
Even when that argues against the assignment in a given case. If a tool you want will not hold up, we say so. If a concept is oversized, we say that too.
We deliver what holds up in daily work.
Not what looks good on a slide. A solution has to survive the reality of a smaller company — structures that grew as they went, tight resources, requests nobody planned for.
We decide by the task at hand.
Not by partnership agreements. We take no commission from software vendors and are under no contractual obligation to any of them.
Order in the system, in the process, in the documentation.
That is what we are known for. What we build, we document so that a successor can carry on without us.
We stay reachable — including after the project.
We think in relationships, not in tickets. Some of our clients have been with us for years, simply because it works.
We look at where European alternatives hold up.
We use US platforms such as Microsoft 365 where they are the best tool for the job. At the same time we actively suggest routes that reduce dependency — wherever that makes technical and commercial sense.
Three subjects we know in depth.
IT ARCHITECTURE FOR SMALLER COMPANIES
We think in data, modules and interfaces — not in tools. Before we build, we draw the architecture. That avoids expensive detours and makes later changes easier, should they come.
DELIVERY WITH THE CONCEPT IN ITS BONES
We build what we recommend. Microsoft 365, WordPress and WooCommerce, ERP migration, automation with n8n, e-invoicing. But we build it the way we would have designed it — including when the concept came from another consultant.
AI AS A TOOL, NOT AS A LABEL
We use Claude Code, agentic workflows and structured automation ourselves — throughout our own delivery chain. That makes us faster and more consistent than classic consultancies. But we will not sell you AI where a plain interface will do.
Owner-run SMEs. Usually five to a hundred employees.
What our clients have in common is not a sector. It is a similar kind of situation.
An IT landscape that grew as it went and needs structural tidying.
Over the years many tools have appeared that no longer match the size or the ambition of the company. At the same time nobody internally has the time to run the whole thing properly.
Earlier attempts with consultants petered out.
Conventional consultancies delivered plenty of slides but little effect. Management is looking for someone who actually builds — not someone who takes their leave as soon as the architecture is supposed to be settled.
The bar for German compliance is high.
DATEV, GoBD, e-invoicing — these are obligations, not niceties. Clients look for someone who treats them as part of the architecture rather than as an add-on.
What sets us apart from other consultants.
digiFORMER at a glance.
